The first session featured Louis on a cable modem in DC, Aaron on a cable modem in Buffalo, Rob on dial-up in Buffalo, and Andrew on dial-up in Carolina. Chaos ensued immediately with everyone trying to log into Louis’s hosting of the game and preventing him from starting it. Andrew recruited some experienced random person who played a portion of the time. To my surprise the experience was a mirror of the chaos of in-person sessions. The party consisted of:
- Louis’s Human cleric, The Cloaked One
- Rob’s Dwarf thief, Gutboy Barrelhouse
- Aaron’s Human paladin, Sir William Thatcher
- Andrew’s Human? bard, ?
The party separated several times. Rob ran ahead a lot, so he could grab treasure first, almost getting himself killed at least once. Andrew got left back writing down messages on pillars, and the like. Louis ran to the edge of new territory and shouted for Rob to search the door for traps (SCOUT!). Sir William tried to maintain some decorum.
